Summer is a strange time to be starting a beauty blog. Anyone reading it really wants to be somewhere else: outside enjoying the weather, inside avoiding the heat, and either way having a cool drink nearby. So while yes, I will be offering beauty tips this summer, I thought I’d do something else: something different and fun for me, and hopefully for you, too!
Every week until Labor Day I will be posting a new smoothie recipe, tried and verified by me (with anyone else who happens to be around.) These smoothie recipes may be concocted by me, or they come from friends, or other sources(given credit of course).
These smoothies will be on the healthy side (no ice cream concoctions) featuring fruits and vegetables, and beauty superfoods. By the end of summer we should have a pretty good collection of healthy, yummy, easy smoothies to make and enjoy – so when it gets really hot, they’re there for us (that’s my plan, anyway!)
If you want to blend along, make sure you have a good blender, or a food processor for tough greens: I’ll be using a Vitamix, which can puree tree bark, so things could get rough for a regular blender.
Requests are welcome, though I am not a chef and don’t pretend to be one, so this won’t be Iron Chef-style making really hard combinations work. Also, any variations and suggestions are welcome in the comments.
This should be fun! Or a nightmare, we’ll find out as we go. So get your blenders out, your glasses on ice and your straws ready, and let’s get set for the Summer of Smoothies!
